Cardi B sentenced over strip club fight after pleading guilty

Rapper Cardi B has been sentenced for her work involvement in a 2018 New York strip club fight.

After being charged in a case involving an altercation with two sisters who were serving drinks at a strip club in Queens, New York, the 29-year-old entered a guilty plea.

According to a representative for the Queens district attorney’s office, the rapper, whose true name is Belcalis Almánzar, entered pleas of guilty to assault in the third degree and reckless endangerment in the second degree.

In accordance with the court’s decision, Cardi B was given a 15-day community service requirement, a three-year complete order of protection for the two victims, and court costs.

In a report, Queens Dist. Atty. Melinda Katz said “no one is above the law. In pleading guilty today, Ms. Belcalis Almánzar and two co-defendants have accepted responsibility for their actions. This Office is satisfied with the resolution, which includes appropriate community service.”

Cardi B must complete the 15 days of community service after pleading guilty to third-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment, the Queens District Attorney’s office noted.

Cardi B said in a statement that she was not ashamed to admit that she had made poor choices in the past.

These moments don’t define me, and they are not reflective of who I am now. Part of growing up and maturing is being accountable for your actions.”

Philanthropist and female songstress, Shatana has replied famed actress, Martha Ankomah over her utterance on Kumawood movies.

Martha in an interview has asserted that most of Kumawood movies did not have substance and were baseless in terms of storyline. Shatana has rebutted her claims saying, that these ‘senseless’ movies are better off than movies with excessive sensual and erotic movies that Martha heavily featured in.

She expressed that there are most veteran actors and actresses who are finding it difficult to erase some movies they did when they were young because their reputation now is at stake but can’t.

She further issued a word of advice to young and upcoming actors to be on their guard as to the type of roles they take up because some are life altering in the near future.

The feud between Ghanaian dancehall best, Shatta Wale and revered DJ and journalist, Andy Dosty got a bit personal when Shatta took to a stage and insulted the latter’s mother. Before then, they were very cool friends, colleagues that got most jealous about their religious friendship.

Yesterday on Asempa 94.7 FM’s “Showbiz Review” entertainment show, Andy Dosty opened up for the first time on the issue. Speaking to the host, Obidombie Adu Kumi, Andy confessed that the issue is deeper than what the public see and have heard. He furthered that he and Wale still talk sometimes.

He explained that the relationship with Shatta Wale only turned sour when Wale came insulting his mother. Andy also said that he is not utterly angry about the whole issue and that if he was, he would confront Shatta Wale face to face.
