“Chop chop” at Yeboah Asuamah SHS, former Headmaster fingered

Published

Staff of Yeboah Asuamah SHS in the Techiman municipality of Bono East region are drawing the attention of President H. E. Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo, Minister of Education Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, the Free SHS Secretariat and all stakeholders to an alleged embezzlement by the school’s past administration.

According to the
teachers in the 2017/2018 academic year, Yeboah Asuamah SHS received an over payment of GHc120, 000 instead of GHc14,000 due them for that term per their population in government’s free SHS fund intervention.

Upon government realising this mistake officially gave a directive that the excess of GHc102,000 be used to run affairs of the school in the coming terms.

But according to them, their plight worsened when the then headmaster Mr. Opoku Donyinah now the Nkoranza North district director of education and then accountant Mr. Sekyere Bediako also with Kukuom Agric SHS now managed to squander the whole GHc120,000 within that very term without anything to show for it.

After this development, the former headmaster and accountant miraculously got auditors to clear them and immediately sort for transfers leaving the school to its fate.

Upon assumption of office by the current headmaster Mr. Peter Blinyim about a year ago, he realized that the coffers of the school was emptied by the past administration and government has since then not released a penny for the school.

This “no money” syndrome bedeviling the school has seriously affected teaching and learning as end of semester examination, extra co-curriculum activities, infrastructure and basic logistics are unavailable.

In order to save the school from collapse, they are humbly appealing with the authorities that be to as a matter of urgency Institute a proper audit into how the former headmaster used the GHc120, 000 government intervention money within a term or punitive actions be taken against the past administration.

Evangelist Patricia Oduro, also known as Nana Agradaa, has been charged with scamming church goers using her well-known money-doubling scheme.

Many people were drawn to her church on Saturday by the joyful news to make various financial commitments in the hopes of receiving tenfold returns.

However, Nana Agradaa’s decision to close her church and flee after preaching left the victims unsatisfied.

A heartbroken group of individuals reportedly wept and protested at the church’s facilities in Weija to demand a return of their money, according to videos obtained online.

After years of defrauding trusting victims, the self-styled pastor, a notorious con artist and previous fetish spiritualist, claimed to have repented in April 2021.

The born-again Christian eventually established the Heavenway Champion International Ministry in Weija, which within a short period of time gathered a sizable membership.

It is surprising that individuals continue to fall for her scams and lose out on their hard-earned money.
