According to information reported by abcnewsgh, can report that some concerned residents of Katanga, a Hall on the campus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has given indication of their unwillingness to accept female students posted to the Hall by school authorities.
The students argue that the decision by management infringes the agreements reached by all parties last year after similar attempts were made.
“The concerned Katangees of the University Hall (Katanga) would like to indicate our displeasure with regards to the manner in which the issue concerning the mixing of the University Hall last year and again the efforts that have been made with regards to reversing that decision” a statement issued on Monday said.
The concerned hall residents found it worrying that some of the notable stakeholders they run to for redress have been reluctant in addressing the issue a year on, a situation they fear may have emboldened University authorities to assign ladies to the all-male University Hall as it is called.
In a three-point relief, they questioned the University management’s desire to maintain the peace the institution has enjoyed since the misunderstandings that erupted at the start of last academic year.
