NANA NTEBOAH PRAH IV COMMENDS METHODIST CHURCH GHANA OVER “CONTRIBUTONS TO DEVELOPMENT

The Divisional Chief of Prestea-Himan Traditional Area, Nana Nteboah Prah IV has commended the Methodist Church Ghana, especially the Tarkwa Diocese over their contributions to promoting developments in the Municipality.
Speaking at the Official Opening Ceremony of the 35th Annual Synod of Tarkwa Diocese hosted by Ebenezer Methodist, Prestea, Nana Nteboah Prah IV stated the Church’s establishment of Methodist Clinic at Aowin, the rehabilitation of Office Road, priotisation Children Ministry are true indications that indeed, “the Methodist Church is ready to go and make disciples of all nations!”. He added that, the Church facilities at Ebenezer and indeed other societies in Prestea has seen transformation due to the good team work of Very Rev. Kwame Ghartey, of Ebenezer Society, Prestea.

Nana Nteboah Prah IV also added his voice to recent kidnapping going on in Takoradi, and appealed to the law enforcement agencies to take a serious look at the situation.

On his part, the Bishop of Tarkwa Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana, Rt. Rev. Thomas Amponsah Donkor, appealed to the President of Ghana, Nana Akuffo Addo and Law enforcement agencies to take the issues of Political Vigilantism and Kidnapping that is sprouting in our body politics as a serious problem before its plunges the country into chaos. “We must not wait until vigilantism becomes uncontrollable before we act decisively” he added.

Speaking on behalf of the MP ,the MCE Hon. Mozart K. Owuh stated that, “the MP is appealing, noting that development is a shared responsibility, that Synod should take critical look at the sanitation challenges facing the municipality and embark on strategic campaign on communal cleanliness”. He added that, the Municipal Assembly is incurring more than GHc 1,000,000.00 annually to control sanitation headache, but it is still getting nowhere to curbing the challenge.

“It is becoming an adage that, before you enter any community, you are faced with refuse dump. The statistics from GHS, indicates typhoid cases in this Municipal is worsening, and there must be something done! We don’t have issues with personal hygiene, as I can see all neatly dressed here, but we do have a problem on communal hygiene, which we want the Synod to help!” he added.

Other dignatories at the ceremony include Chairman Abiam Kuntu Danso, NPP Prestea Huni-Valley Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Ennor K. Arthur, 2nd Vice Chairman of NPP, PHV, Tetrete Akuamoah Sakyi, Omahene of Wassa Amenfi, Nana Danso, Divisional Chief of Eyinam- Prestea, Nana Tinkorang, Odikro of Krootown –Nsuekyir , Ms. Mary Vida Kwofie, Municipal Director of Education, PHV and hosts of Rev. Ministers and over 1000 congregations of the Methodist Church.

She has been singing for as long as she can remember, growing up with her ears glued to the radio.

From the moment her school teacher asked her to sing in class, the rest has been history. From Africa to Denmark, from Book Café in Harare to Mojo Blues Bar and the big concert halls. From
Danish Radio Big Band to the Royal Theater. Music is music, and Miriam is the music.

“But it’s not about me when I sing. I’m just the instrument, and when I’m on stage with my band, I sing from a place that’s not about rules and technique but about emotions,” says the singer, who is
seriously trying her hand at songwriting – together with her Soul Family on the album “Ndiwe”, which means ‘you are the chosen one of my heart.’ The overall message is impossible to ignore
Love.

“Call me a soul singer, call me a jazz singer. I don’t care. Good music is good music, and I love interpreting other people’s songs and being inspired. At the same time, I think it’s great to try my
hand at creating and writing the songs myself – and with my friends in the Soul Family, I have found my place. They are my family, and the curiosity and respect we share are fantastic.”

“I love to maintain the feeling of being a child. It’s an excitement and curiosity that keeps me going, and that’s why I’m so excited about every single concert – no matter how small or large it is.

Otherwise, I would never do it. This is not just a casual thing. This is a life, and everything means something,” says Miriam, who began her years in Denmark by jamming at Mojo Blues Bar, building a network.
