Artiste Profile: Meet Bra Collins, The New Face Of Urban Gospel Music In Ghana

Ghana’s gospel music is fast changing it’s shreds to meet the new forms of music in and around the world, for easy penetration to the masses in delivering God’s message.

One of such new school artistes in the new school gospel music fraternity is Bra Collins The Rap Evangelist.

 

Bra Collins started as a hiplife rapper with the name ‘Bizi Brain‘, when he was still in school (Abuakwa State College) in the early 2000s where he worked with artistes like Lil Shaker, Iwan, Kumi Guitar, Guru, FBS, Reggie Zippie and a host of others. He also got the previlege of working with legendary music producers such as Zapp Mallet, Sugartone, Appietus, and others.

Although Bra Collins was doing quite well in hiplife music, he felt God was calling him for his work through dreams and visions.

The Rap Evangelist seeing that the youth were very much versed in rap music, thought it wise, how great an impact he will make if he preached the gospel of God in rap music. He also wanted to prove the point that rap music can be used to win souls for Christ Jesus.

Bra Collins switched to gospel rap music in 2014, where he formed End Time Music. From there, he has released a series of songs making waves both in and outside the horizon of Africa.

The U.S.A based Ghanaian musician seeks to reach the masses with gospel rap and motivate them to enterprise in the Kingdom business of evangelism and soul winning.

“Pioneering the Afro-gospel music genre in Ghana, Joseph Matthew is breaking down barriers and challenging stereotypes in the Gospel music industry.

In a recent interview with Metro TV, the talented artiste boldly shared his thoughts on the rigid expectations placed on Gospel musicians in terms of dressing and music style. He argued that it’s limiting and demeaning to condemn artistes who don’t fit the traditional mold, simply because of their appearance or sound.
