All You Need To Know About The Novel, “Kumerica” Movement

It is obvious that by now everyone is aware and have seen the new “Kumerica” trend that has taken over both the traditional and digital media space in Ghana. Many are those who don’t know what really the movement is about, how come the movement came into being and where it was targeted to get to.

The Kumerican movement is an entertainment initiative (more music wise), set up by a pack of young musicians from Kumasi, spearheaded by Bra Benk, “Mama Wo Adum”, to help promote their music and what they stand for. Other key members of the movement are, Kawabanga, Sean Lifer, O’ Kenneth, Sean Lifer, Obey Tunez, Reggie, Kwaku DMC, City Boy, C Mob, and a host of others.

The movement was created by these young musicians to differentiate themselves from others in the art. In so doing, they created their own genre of locally made drill music, which they came to name Asakaa. It’s rather sad that people have began distorting and thwarting the essence of the movement, which is to promote these young musicians and their genre of music, which they tirelessly worked their asses of for.

It will be of great importance to the movement if we stick to these young musicians dreams for the movement and pull up our weight behind them, so they grow the movement to the maxima, instead of everyone doing their own thing in pretence of supporting the Kumerican dream.

Revered Ghanaian musician, Wicked Queen J, based in Denmark, has made a remarkable achievement in the academic realm, successfully completing her two-year program in Pharmaceutical and Psychology at ‘Sosuh’, one of Denmark’s most prestigious secondary education and vocational schools specializing in health sciences.

With flying colors, Wicked Queen J has demonstrated her intellectual prowess and dedication to excellence, excelling in a rigorous course that combined the in-depth study of pharmaceuticals, psychology, and related laws. Her comprehensive training encompasses managing and caring for mental health disorders, authorization law, psychopath law, sympathetic law, medical laws, and service laws, showcasing her unwavering commitment to making a meaningful impact in the healthcare sector.

As part of her professional development, Wicked Queen J will undertake a four-month service at the esteemed Psychological Institute Psychiatric Hospital, honing her skills and expertise before commencing full-time service at the same hospital, contributing to the nation’s healthcare sector.

Notably, despite her demanding academic schedule, Wicked Queen J continued to nurture her music career, releasing the chart-topping anthem “I Kill For 2” featuring Yaa Pono and Natty Lee, which remains a staple on radio and music outlets, showcasing her artistic versatility and talent.

Greatness Produtions To Premiere ‘TRAPPED’ On 13th July, 2024 At The CCB Auditorium (KNUST)

TRAPPED is a suspenseful thriller masterpiece based on the events of a true life story, that sheds light on love, betrayal, heartbreak and mystery. The narrative constitutes a married couple with 2 children, where in an event of infidelity the eruption of a myriad of occurrences stems from the other party. TRAPPED employs a psychological path that will keep you at the edge of your seat. You simply would not want to miss out on this piece.

The entire production, comprising pre-production through to post-production elapsed a total of 5 months, with 2 parts of the story to have been filmed some 2 months earlier. Then, the final part produced and pieced together later over a month, followed by a month more which was scheduled for location scouting, grants, and rehearsals.

Filming the final parts took 2 months in total, followed by 2 more months for editing (post-production). The entire production of TRAPPED took place in Kumasi with all locations considered.

TRAPPED is produced and directed by Kwabena Adubofour Agyei-Agyemang, popularly known as ‘Kobbyshots’. Casty Dampson served as the writer and co-director in tandem with Kwaku Edusei Acquah doubling as a script analyzer and an actor. Roland Nsiah Asare, otherwise known as Maxi Made, took charge of the sound department of the film.
