The Professional Glaziers Association, producers of allumium products in the ashanti region, want government to reduce import charges of the raw materials.

they are calling on Ghana Revenue Authority to consider reducing the tax rate imposed on alluminum products in the country.

Tarrifs on aluminium products is really affecting profit generated by people who are into alluminum and glass business in the country.

Speaking in an interview with the Ashanti Regional President of the association Mr Alex Sirkey said, high tax impose on the raw materials is forcing most producers out of the business.

Mr. Alex Sirkey, disclosed that, direct and indirect tarrifs are forcing a number of players to move out of the business.

He therefore called on government to help them by reducing taxes on aluminium products.
