Assin Fosu: Police In Robbery Instead Of Fighting Crime.

Published

on

Barely three months a police officer was interdicted over a viral video that saw Assin Fosu police taken bribe from some suspected fraudsters to aid them perpetuate their act, the Assin Fosu police is in the news again.

This time, the police officer Constable Prince Koomson, charged a suspected fraudster an amount of GH¢2000.00 after arresting the said boy on the basis of tip-off that he is a fraudster.

The suspect resisted the arrest but the police petrol team would only free him after settling that bill proposed by the police. After taken GH¢880.00 from the suspects pocket the leader of the petrol team, Constable Prince Koomson also known as Ojoe gave his mobile money number to the suspect to complete the payment.

The suspect not happy with the turn of event reported the matter to the Assin Fosu District Police Commander, Chief Supt. Leonard Abakah, who after interrogating the police officer hinted that the officer has admitted to the act and the money has been refunded.

The command has hinted that disciplinary measures would be used against the said police officer for the extortion to avert such crime within the Assin Fosu police command

Meanwhile The Assin Fosu Youth Association In a Press release Last week Demand the Transfer of the Assin Fosu Divisional Crime Officer for not standing firm intems of criminal activities in the Municipality.

“The Teaming Youth of Assin today 25th July 2019 are demanding the immediate transfer of the Assin Foso Divisional Crime Officer who to us have outlive his usefulness in Policing in Assin and its environs.

We the Youth of Assin are fed up with the insecurity due to the fact that the Crime Officer’s ideas and skills in Policing has for now become stagnant.

Some of the core competencies expected from most of the Officers are seriously and dangerously missing their duties.

Recent actions by the Crime Officer is very detrimental to the security of Assin.

Potential Criminals in the Division are using the Crime Officer’s position everyday to perpetrate crime day and night.

Police officers are breaking into innocent people’s homes at night with inpunity without warrant all in the name of the Crime Officer.

One of our references is an Assin Foso police officer who was filmed whilst taking bribe from fraudsters. To put salt in our wounds, fraudsters have entirely taken over every nook and cranny of Assin in the full glare of the Crime Officer.

Assin is in complete chaos causing fear and panic due to his longstay in Assin as a Crime Officer.

These and many more are hurting the humble Youth of Assin, we are bleeding with fear and seek the immediate transfer of the Divisional Crime Officer.

This release when ignored shall attract a serious demonstration against the authorities that be.

DEBUT ALBUM by Miriam Mandipira & The Soul Family!
You’ve never heard a voice like Miriam Mandipira’s. Undeservedly, she doesn’t take credit for the power or presence she delivers. For Miriam, music is much more than just notes and words. It’s
magic. And faith. You can experience it LIVE and on the album, which is set to be released on September 1st.

She has been singing for as long as she can remember, growing up with her ears glued to the radio.

From the moment her school teacher asked her to sing in class, the rest has been history. From Africa to Denmark, from Book Café in Harare to Mojo Blues Bar and the big concert halls. From
Danish Radio Big Band to the Royal Theater. Music is music, and Miriam is the music.

“But it’s not about me when I sing. I’m just the instrument, and when I’m on stage with my band, I sing from a place that’s not about rules and technique but about emotions,” says the singer, who is
seriously trying her hand at songwriting – together with her Soul Family on the album “Ndiwe”, which means ‘you are the chosen one of my heart.’ The overall message is impossible to ignore
Love.

“Call me a soul singer, call me a jazz singer. I don’t care. Good music is good music, and I love interpreting other people’s songs and being inspired. At the same time, I think it’s great to try my
hand at creating and writing the songs myself – and with my friends in the Soul Family, I have found my place. They are my family, and the curiosity and respect we share are fantastic.”

You can experience that up close when Miriam & The Soul Family take the stage. The enthusiasm for music and communication is impossible to ignore and hear.

“I love to maintain the feeling of being a child. It’s an excitement and curiosity that keeps me going, and that’s why I’m so excited about every single concert – no matter how small or large it is.

Otherwise, I would never do it. This is not just a casual thing. This is a life, and everything means something,” says Miriam, who began her years in Denmark by jamming at Mojo Blues Bar, building a network.

Enjoy
