CONSTITUENCY WATCH DOG INTERNATIONAL (CWDI ) SLAPS MAHAMA TO ORDER!

Published

on

We are beginning to have the conviction that, either Former President John Dramani Mahama has no respect for Ghanaians and the credibility of our Electoral Commission or he has deliberately decided to adopt a political strategy of falsehood, propaganda and distorted facts. JDM has recently had his credibility eroded lately due to the fact that, he appears to have shifted from his previous comments about the cause of their unprecedented lost he and his NDC had in the hands of the NPP in the 2016 elections. He has more or less branched into propaganda. Sadly enough, he has been failing in his propagandist agenda on many of the issues he has raised recently.

Mr. Mahama Speaking at the Saïd Business School in collaboration with the African Studies Centre and the Oxford Africa Business Alliance under the theme “Democracy and Elections in Contemporary Africa he said “During the last Presidential Election in Ghana, the Electoral Commission directed its staff to stop using the electronic result transmission system to communicate results to the tallying centre because the system had been compromised.

This is absurd! Must Mr. John Dramani Mahama make the News when there is no news to make? We are inclined to believe that, their inability to be news worthy these days is the driving force behind this pure invention from him. This assertion by John Mahama is completely false. A man of his caliber should desist from such lies because he has every opportunity to cross check his facts before airing same. But if he decides to resort to lies and falsehood, some of us are also ready to face him squarely. The ill aspect is the venue he made this unglody comment. He should save Ghanaians the little respect he and his NDC party has had for us than to disgrace the nation he has lead and still craving to be given the second chance to lead and the credibility of her valuable institutions. The very right institution that gave him the mandate to lead this country as president in the 2012 elections.

As former president who is still been paid with the sweat and hustle of the taxpayer, we are expecting him to live up to standards and expectations and not to resort to lies, propaganda and cheap politics. The most important qualities in a politician are ranking, and voting pleasure. When one thinks of character traits that make a good politician, one thinks of things like integrity and optimism. It takes an intelligent, loyal, and likable person to win any election (whether on the local, state, or national level) let alone succeed as a president. It’s of no doubt that, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and his NPP possesses these qualities.

From tact to charisma, possessing specific traits is critical when communicating with international leaders and constituents alike. That’s why leadership qualities should include things like being a diplomatic person… characteristics like integrity and likability that help a person both campaign and lead a body of people. Undetermined politicians who do things based on party lines rather than based on their own morality and sense of independence belong in the category of negative characteristics for politicians.

To a very large extent, Former Presidents has been one of the finest reservoirs and preparatory grounds for the production of some of the requisite human resources that a nation can boast of; many of whom have become the crème de la crèmes of our past and contemporary social, economic, and political milieu.A typical example ; Fmr Presidents,Barrack Obama, George Bush, Bill Clinton,John Agyekum Kuffour, Jerry John Rawlings. Just to say few.

That notwithstanding, it is regrettable to note that Fmr president John Dramani Mahama of today is comparatively becoming less famous and is hardly able to hold the fort for his predecessors and the NDC as its antecedents professed.

More disturbing is the observation that contemporary Fmr. President JDM seemingly appears to have relinquished its hitherto enviable influence in shaping of our political systems and is gradually becoming what can best be described as ‘SUPER INCOMPETENT BREEDER’.

This development has negatively affected our body politics and needs a paradigm shift. *Constituency Watch Dog International (CWDI)* has therefore come to a conclusion that, the Fmr. President after his NDC in his recent Nationwide tour have had a first hand information from the grassroots that, 2020 elections is an unforseen massive lost for him and his NDC per the developmental agenda transition been chalked by the NPP in their 2yrs in government.

He has therefore decided to go by the *PLAN B* by setting a preconceived aspersions on the 2020 elections and the electoral commission for a defeat he awaits to embrace which will be difficult to explain to his NDC. We therefore assures assures Ghanaians who are saddened by this chaotic comment form the Fmr. President and the flagbearer of the Opposition NDC restrain themselves an have confidence in the credibility of our electoral commission and the Security of this Nation.

Never will political elections result in instability, anarchy, war and chaos in this country.

Poor Sanitation In Winneba Calls For Major Concern

Published

on

By

In recent times, a significant health risk has emerged in Winneba due to inadequate sanitation practices. Winneba, a town and the capital of the Efutu Municipality in the Central Region of Ghana, is home to a population of 55,331 individuals who are grappling with the adverse effects of subpar sanitation conditions. The availability of safe drinking water and proper sanitation facilities have become a pressing concern. Presently, Winneba is contending with a marked decline in environmental sanitation, notably in areas like Akosua village, Eyipey, Sankor, and Sekegyano.

The poor state of sanitation in Winneba can be attributed to several underlying factors. Firstly, the absence of adequate sanitation facilities, including proper toilets and latrines, in both rural and urban areas is a matter of significant concern that requires immediate attention and resolution. The dearth of toilet facilities in Winneba has precipitated open defecation practices and contributed to substandard environmental hygiene. The consequences of open defecation, when combined with soil, lead to environmental pollution, water contamination, and, consequently, an elevated risk of diseases and fatalities.

Economically, the annual losses incurred due to poor sanitation amount to a range between 1% and 2.5% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). It is essential to recognize that the actual cost could potentially surpass these estimates, as they encompass only the losses linked to premature mortality, healthcare expenditures, diminished productivity, and time wasted due to the practice of open defecation.

Secondly, the improper disposal of solid waste has inflicted severe damage on the local environment. The littering of materials in the streets, lanes, and gutters has precipitated a sanitation crisis in Winneba. This habit of indiscriminate littering have adversely impacted the lives of the residents. The absence of effective waste disposal planning at the grassroots level, the inadequacy of policy implementation, and the lack of awareness are formidable obstacles to the improvement of sanitation standards.

Furthermore, the rapid surge in Winneba’s population has placed an overwhelming strain on the existing sanitation infrastructure. The increasing number of households and schools lack the necessary facilities to manage their sanitation needs. Consequently, both adults and children endure the consequences of inadequate sanitation provisions.

To address these challenges, a multifaceted approach is imperative. Initiatives must be launched to stimulate the demand for sanitation services. This entails the implementation of measures by those in authority to employ individuals tasked with cleaning the environment to foster a healthy and hygienic sanitation ecosystem. Additionally, the adoption of pit latrines, where human waste is collected in pits beneath toilets and left to decompose, along with the utilization of bio-toilets or waterless toilets, offers sustainable solutions that conserve water resources while advancing sanitation objectives.

Moreover, the provision of strategically placed dustbins in various towns and beaches, such as Eyipey, Sekegyano, Akosua Village, Sankor, Sir Charles Beach, Royal Beach, and Warabeba Beach, is crucial for effective waste management.

In conclusion, the promotion of sound sanitation behavior is paramount to ensuring the well-being of Winneba’s residents. Nevertheless, it is essential to emphasize the importance of consistently practicing good sanitation principles and policies to effect lasting change and safeguard public health.
