GLOBAL INVESTMENT BANKERS LIMITED OUTRAGED, KUMASI MAYOR’S NAME POPS UP

The Major of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi and names of other government officials have popped up in the Global Investment Bankers Limited fraud scandal in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
This has triggered about thirty five (35) customers of the Global Investment Bankers Limited to invade the Bank over their locked up monies.
According to Mr. George Kofi Krah, one of the customers of Global investment bankers Limited who hinted it to New Mercury news desk, said they are at the verge to act if management of the Bank failed to pay their monies to them or come out clearly to explain why by the close of this week.
The group is therefore calling on the CEO of the Bank, Mr. Isaac K. D. Baidoo, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi, the Kumasi metropolitan chief Executive, Dr. Thomas Kusi Boafo, the CEO of the Public Sector Reforms and other government officials who are part of the Board of Directors of the Bank to act swiftly to protect the Bank from further collapse of the financial institutions in the country.
Global Investment bankers Limited office is said to have been relocated from Amakom to Adum Kumasi in the Ashanti Region since April 2019 and currently not in operation. The Bank’s website too has been closed.
On the other side of the story, whether the names mentioned as Board of Directors of the Global Investment Bankers Limited is genuine, New Mercury News’ Reporter, Akgri Daniel on telephone call with Dr. Thomas Kusi Boafo, the CEO of the Public Sector Reforms had it that, he was called to the board of directors of the Bank some where 2016 during party campaign visit ( NPP), but he refused and later on wrote officially to the bank a rejected letter which stated his stands not interested in the position. On the other hand, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi, the kumasi metropolitan chief executive said he is aware of the matter but he was outside Ghana and promised to talk to New Mercury News when return.
That not withstanding, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi, the Chief Executive Officer of the kumasi Metropolitan Assembly and Dr. Thomas Kusi Boafo’s name have appeared in many list of several Rural Banks as a member of Board of Directors in the Ashanti Region per the information gathered.
