NABCO TRAINEES TO MATCH TO THE PRESIDENCY

Published

on

The Leadership of the Coalition of NABCO trainees *CONAT* nationwide is calling on all trainees across the country and sympathizers to solidly rally behind our final plan to embark on a National Demonstration to march and present our petition to His Excellency and other key stakeholders of this initiative over the protracted grievances of *unpaid stipends and arrears* , *placement of trainees*, *regularization of payments*, and *better working conditions*

Leaders by this statement says, there is a planned demonstration against the management of the *Nation Builders Corps* for not paying due us our monthly and all arrears per the agreement of the engagement letter signed by all trainees.

Again, we express disheartening concern to the inconsistent and fluctuated manner of payments of Arrears due Trainees, recording instances where management have slashed and partially paid arrears to trainees with others especially trainees who resigned from *YEA and Youth In Afforestation*, also *Mismatch of Names, Wrong USN and No Ezwich Number trainees* who haven’t received any of the stipends since the inception of the initiative amid our countless confrontations to authorities to address their predicaments.

According to the leaders, the option of a demonstration to address our grievances follows many unsuccessful appeals to the NABCO CEO and other stakeholders especially the just ellapsed 3 day ultimatum given the management to hastily respond to our grievances. We want the program to run smoothly with regular payment and not paying in bit. Change has been, long overdue and too long delayed. We Nation Builders must be monetarily fueled on regular basis to revitalize the spirit of Nation Building.

We add that, due to improper payments, we are unable to plan and that has brought so many challenges to us. It is unfortunate and disheartening that we have come to this conclusion.

Trainees say, we have no option than to hit the street coming *Wednesday, 8th May 2019* and March to the Flagstaff house to resubmit our petition to our *BELOVED FATHER OF THIS INITIATIVE, HIS EXCELLENCY NANA ADDO DANKWAH*.

*Our earnest Demands.*
1.Pay us all unpaid allowances (from November to date) that is
*November – April*
*December – April*
*January – April*
*February – April*
*March and April*

2. Henceforth, we demand regular payment of our stipends

3. We demand all unplaced Trainees be equally placed as soon as possible.

4. Since the 6months probational period has been exhausted, we demand the secretariat come out with a clearer plan and the way forward with regards to the new contract that were to be given to trainees after the 6months probational period.

DEBUT ALBUM: Miriam Mandipira & The Soul Family

DEBUT ALBUM by Miriam Mandipira & The Soul Family!
You’ve never heard a voice like Miriam Mandipira’s. Undeservedly, she doesn’t take credit for the power or presence she delivers. For Miriam, music is much more than just notes and words. It’s
magic. And faith. You can experience it LIVE and on the album, which is set to be released on September 1st.

She has been singing for as long as she can remember, growing up with her ears glued to the radio.

From the moment her school teacher asked her to sing in class, the rest has been history. From Africa to Denmark, from Book Café in Harare to Mojo Blues Bar and the big concert halls. From
Danish Radio Big Band to the Royal Theater. Music is music, and Miriam is the music.

“But it’s not about me when I sing. I’m just the instrument, and when I’m on stage with my band, I sing from a place that’s not about rules and technique but about emotions,” says the singer, who is
seriously trying her hand at songwriting – together with her Soul Family on the album “Ndiwe”, which means ‘you are the chosen one of my heart.’ The overall message is impossible to ignore
Love.

“Call me a soul singer, call me a jazz singer. I don’t care. Good music is good music, and I love interpreting other people’s songs and being inspired. At the same time, I think it’s great to try my
hand at creating and writing the songs myself – and with my friends in the Soul Family, I have found my place. They are my family, and the curiosity and respect we share are fantastic.”

You can experience that up close when Miriam & The Soul Family take the stage. The enthusiasm for music and communication is impossible to ignore and hear.

“I love to maintain the feeling of being a child. It’s an excitement and curiosity that keeps me going, and that’s why I’m so excited about every single concert – no matter how small or large it is.

Otherwise, I would never do it. This is not just a casual thing. This is a life, and everything means something,” says Miriam, who began her years in Denmark by jamming at Mojo Blues Bar, building a network.

Enjoy
