The 37-year old nurse who was murdered at Ayoum, a suburb in Kuamsi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana has been laid to rest on Saturday, February 15.

The funeral was attended by hundreds of sympathizers and mourners who joined the family of the deceased to bid her farewell.

According to a report by Citi News, the ceremony was a solemn one.

The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association and other 13 bodies within the nursing profession were there to also pay their last respect to the late nurse.

President of Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association, Perpetual Ofori Ampofo in their tribute to their former colleague asked the government to work at improving the security of nurses and the general Ghanaian populace.

“We are all very much dismayed about the whole issue that is happening. We are united in one voice and all that we are saying is we need justice. Today, we have a husband having to be a single parent to take of three children. We do not want this to happen again,” said.

She left behind a husband, Kweku Arhin and three children. They have been married for 11-years.

So far the police have arrested one person in connection to the murder. The police say a phone was found at the scene of the crime and was traced too the suspect.
