Former President Rawlings and Dr Zanetor Rawlings tour Adabraka flood victims
National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for the Korle Klottey Constituency, Dr Zanetor Rawlings and the Flagbearer of the NDC, Former President John Mahama have toured last week’s flood victims in Adabraka and its environs in the national capital, Accra.

The opposition NDC paid the cost of clearing the debris left in the wake of flood that displaced victims whose shacks were decimated by the floods at the Sahara Ghetto near the Odaw River in the capital.

Addressing the affected residents, Dr Zanetor Rawlings asked the Akufo-Addo led government to hand over power to the NDC if fixing of drainage systems in the country is a difficult thing for them to tackle.

The first daughter of Former President Rawlings said the NDC in opposition keeps rescuing people anytime there’s a heavy downpour of rains which is what government should be doing.

“If they know they can’t tackle this drainage system issue, they should hand over to us and we will happily do the work that we were doing under the NDC during President Mahama’s era,” Dr Rawlings stated

She further indicated that the Akufo-Addo led government secured a loan in the name of solving drainage issues in the country but for the past two and half years, there’s no work to show as evidence.

Zanetor Rawlings added: “As residents, we have to put pressure on the President and his executives so that what they said they’ll do can come into reality. They said they’ve gone for loan to fix all drainage systems in the country but it’s been two and half years now and we are waiting for this to happen and it still hasn’t happen”.
